Last month, Revel Kitchen’s second location debuted in Brentwood. The new outpost for the completely gluten-free restaurant opened on Feb. 18 with a new menu designed by Simon Lusky, who co-owns the concept with his wife, Angelica. As of March 3, the retooled list of offerings is also available at Revel Kitchen’s flagship location on Cherokee Street.
“We knew we’d have to have some staples and a main focus here,” says general manager Courtney Shannon. “The location is very centralized, so we went with the focus of being able to grab something and go. We’re all about customizing healthy options as well as making it quick and easy.”
The approximately 1,800-square-foot space mirrors the shotgun-style dining room of the Cherokee Street location, with modern touches conceptualized with the help of local brand marketing agency Atomicdust.
Several Cherokee Street favorites remain on the menu, including the brand’s popular Bip n’ Bop bowl with cauliflower rice, peppers, mushrooms, pickled carrots, edamame, stir-fry sauce, sambal and scallions. Patrons will also find several new options under each category, from the salads and bowls to the handhelds, sides and drinks.
The Swell Surfer salad, for instance, comes with mixed greens, cabbage, papaya, fire-roasted jalapeño, toasted sunflower seeds, cotija cheese and citrus vinaigrette. As with all salads and bowls, guests can now add their choice of protein. Choose from grass-fed beef, free-range chicken breast, Mofu mix and pulled Duroc pork and fresh fish. Egg, avocado and bacon are also available as add-ins.
The Aztek Warrior is yet another menu addition, featuring a blend of quinoa, roasted corn, mango, scallions, red peppers, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. From the handhelds menu, look for fresh picks including a pulled pork sandwich, a chicken and avocado club and Buddha’s burrito with Mofu mix, brown rice, curry sauce, mixed greens and garbanzos.
Seasonal soups such as coconut curry and butternut-squash bisque also make their debut on the retooled menu. The full breakfast menu made popular by the Cherokee Street location is also available, including waffles, pancakes, omelettes and more.
The Brentwood location also features an even larger cold-pressed juice selection, with some new flavors on tap including grapefruit, pear, lemonade and limeade. Another aspect currently unique to the storefront is an espresso machine. Lattes and cappuccinos are available now, and diners can look for syrup infusion options and more in the future.
Revel Kitchen’s Brentwood location is currently open Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm and Saturday through Sunday from 8am to 4pm.
