Only a few days remain to get your Frankly Sausages fix: The brick-and-mortar location, dubbed Frankly on Cherokee, will close its doors this Sat., May 18.

Owners Bill and Jamie Cawthon also plan to sell the Frankly Sausages food truck and brand, including the truck outfitted with a fully equipped kitchen, plus its recipes, bookings and license.

The couple announced the news in a "Frankly Farewell" letter on the brand's website, writing that they just couldn't make the location work for the concept, which opened on Cherokee Street in November 2017.

"We are extremely proud to have maintained a great reputation for excellent food, something simple done right, which has always been our goal," the Cawthons said in the statement. "Our greatest pleasure was continuing to surprise and delight customers by what was possible for a simple brat and fries. Our regulars, our customers, our friends in the industry and our families have made this so incredibly rewarding and fun."

Frankly Sausages first hit the streets in St. Louis as a food truck in the fall of 2015, offering artisan sausages and some of the best fries in town. The brick-and-mortar location expanded on the concept with a slightly larger menu including those acclaimed sausages and fries, plus a standout smashed burger and a fried chicken sandwich.

Before opening Frankly Sausages, Bill, an alum of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, worked in some of St. Louis' top kitchens, including Pastaria and Cardwell's at the Plaza. The couple has yet to announce any future plans after closing the restaurant and selling the food truck.

"Thank you so much for following along on our journey, it’s been a wild ride," they said. "While we don’t have any future plans ready to announce, we are very much looking forward to new ways to bring you the thing we do best: Excellent, unbending quality food grounded in the principle of doing something simple, right."
