In less than 7 years, ShuttleCork has successfully raised more than $5 million. Proceeds directly benefit the public, allowing the Nelson-Atkins to honor its commitment to offer free admission to all, including more than 66,500 students who participate in arts education each year. Friday, May 3rd, Grand Tasting, Live Auction & Post-Auction Celebration: Enjoy wines from more than 25 top winemakers, plus food offerings from 20 local restaurants followed by a live auction with additional wines and other goodies. Enjoy FREE classes with topics such as growing mushrooms, making vinegar, and fish sauce (space is limited). Live music by Maria the Mexican/Maria Cuevas, food vendor, and a ticketed beer garden showcasing regional microbrewers are also part of the fun. Admission to the beer garden is limited to those 21 years and older–ID required. Beer and food sales begin at 11 am. Here’s the schedule: 2pm: limited edition anniversary mug release. This will happen upstairs at HopCat; first come, first served. HopCat opens at 11 AM and if you really want a mug, we recommend you arrive soon thereafter to secure your place in line for the mug release at 2 pm. They’ll likely sell out quickly as they are VERY limited edition. 2-5pm: TikiCat is open on a first come first served basis.
