In March, Kansas City’s Sprint Center, owned and operated by AEG company, welcomed more than 250,000 visitors – a record for the local entertainment venue. It also saw the opening of Kansas City’s first Benihana restaurant in the form of a 550-square foot fast-casual concession stand located on the Main Concourse, near section 101.

Benihana, the nation's leading operator of Japanese-inspired teppanyaki, also owns the RA Sushi restaurant concept, which already has a location in the Park Place shopping center in Leawood, Kansas.

The new Sprint Center location now combines the best of both concepts in a fast-casual format, proudly serving Benihana’s signature Hibachi steak, chicken and shrimp in addition to RA Sushi favorites like California rolls, avocado rolls, spicy tuna rolls and specialty poke bowls. The drink offerings include Red Flower Special Edition sake, canned beer, craft beer, soda and bottled water.

Levy Restaurants, the exclusive concessionaire of the Sprint Center, worked to develop two new side-by-side, restaurant-style concession areas, that deliver a state-of-the-art guest experience. It's the first of its kind for this Japanese restaurant brand.

“Our partnership with AEG and their strong leadership team helps further strengthen our Benihana and RA Sushi brands not only across sports and live entertainment but also beyond our brick-and-mortar locations,” Benihana chief executive officer and president Tom Baldwin said in a statement. “Sprint Center is a world-class venue, and we couldn’t be more honored to align with this iconic property that shares our values and commitment to putting our guests first.”

Much like at a classic Benihana restaurant, their new Sprint Center location features traditional teppanyaki tables along with the iconic, performing chefs for guests to enjoy in-person.

“We are proud to introduce our fans to Benihana, a global industry icon and best-in-class partner, whose revolutionary approach to Japanese food and dining highlights our own commitment to innovation and providing our guests with the very best in sports and live entertainment,” Erin Zinser, senior director of partnership activation for AEG Global Partnerships, said in a statement. “This partnership will enhance our ability to deliver meaningful value and create even more memorable experiences for our fans.”

As an official partner of Sprint Center, Benihana is also serving its food as part of the Founder’s Club concession area, serving menu items from both Benihana and RA Sushi.
