When you read the menu description for the Jacquelin from Big Momma's Coffee and Espresso Bar, it starts out sounding like a pretty typical sandwich – turkey, provolone, lettuce and tomatoes make up the base. But by the time you get to the fifth item, it starts to level up with sprouts, basil pesto, mayo and honey mustard. And if you weren't already sold at this point, consider that it's all served all on homemade focaccia bread. If you're thinking about grabbing takeout in Springfield today, we recommend saying yes to the Jacquelin. 

With its unexpected flavors, it's a sandwich that certainly took time to perfect, but it's one that holds significance to owner Foster Lyle. He named this sandwich after his mother, Jacquelin Foster, a school teacher in Virginia, to honor her memory.

A trip to Big Momma's can seem incomplete without getting one of the specialty drinks. The coffee shop's signature C-Street Cooler, an iced coffee with chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut and milk, is back for the summer. Take the treat to go to sip on as you stroll down the historic district or grab it to pair with the sandwich you take home to enjoy.
