Cesar's Old Mexico pupusas

The pupusas stuffed with pork, beans and shredded cheese are an awesome introduction to Salvadorian cuisine.

If you're looking for a satisfying Mexican meal in Springfield, Cesar's Old Mexico is a good bet for finding something to satisfy your craving. But in addition to classic Mexican fare, the restaurant also serves a handful of Salvadorian dishes, including one of our favorites: pupusas.

Cesar's Old Mexico's pupusas feature a cornmeal flatbread stuffed with either cheese, cheese and beans or pork, beans and cheese. You can order them individually, so make sure to get enough to fill you up. The restaurant also offers so-pusas, their version of Mexican sopes meets Salvadorian pupusas. They take the pupusas and top them with your choice of asada or chicken, lettuce, cotija cheese, sour cream and ranchero sauce, if you want to mix it up.

If you want to stick to classic Mexican cuisine, Cesar's also has everything you might need, from tacos to burritos to fajitas.

Cesar's Old Mexico is offering its menu for takeout and dine-in service.
