The holiday season kicks into high gear with plenty of events this weekend: Eat breakfast with Santa, score a rare Schlafly brew or discover Czech beer.
This wine-pairing dinner features wines from the Rhone Valley with five courses from chef Anthony Devoit. Start with a Paul Jaboulet Viognier Secrets de Famille 2017, then country-style pâté with grain mustard and sourdough breads paired with Paul Jaboulet Crozes-Hermitage Blanc 2016. The second course is roasted beets, onions, Baetje Farm goat cheese, tart shell, greens and a mustard vinaigrette paired with Domaine de Cristia Cotes du Rhône VV 2016. Next is California yellowfin tuna with olive, anchovy, roasted potatoes and winter squash paired with Paul Jaboulet Crozes-Hermitage Rouge Les Jalets 2015. The main course is braised Fitchner Farm beef with red wine, herb butter, and mushroom and focaccia bread pudding paired with Telegramme Chateauneuf du Pape 2016.
