The Shack is bringing its creative brunch fare to Kansas City.

The popular breakfast and lunch joint, which currently operates four St. Louis-area locations, plans to expand into Kansas City this fall with two new locations. The first, located at 7940 W. 135th Street in Overland Park, is slated to open Aug. 10. Another location will open at 7218 College Boulevard in Overland Park later this fall.

With dishes like Why the French Hate Us (a toasted croissant with sausage, eggs and gravy) and Make A Grown Man Cry (a breakfast burrito with housemade queso and salsa fresca), The Shack is perhaps the quirkiest concept from OG Hospitality, which also owns The Tavern Kitchen & Bar and Corner Pub & Grill in St. Louis.

The Shack is currently exploring new locations across the country, including Nashville and Denver. Earlier this year, co-owner Brant Baldanza told Feast that he scouted Overland Park while attending one of his kids' soccer tournaments.  "I fell in love with Overland Park," he said. "It has a great business commerce and family atmosphere."

The 135th Street location will feature rustic wood finishes and vibrant colors; as at all Shack locations, diners will be invited to leave their mark on the walls. The approximate 5,500-square-foot space will feature seats for 160 guests, including bar seating and a semi-private dining room for 35 diners.

The Shack will be open daily from 6:30am to 2pm, with breakfast served all day, every day and lunch served from 11am to 2pm Monday through Saturday.
