Friday

Volunteer Harvest at TerraVox

"August 26th, 27th, and 28th, starting at 9am, put on your sun hat and join us out in the vineyard for a relaxing day of grape picking and more. Wetumka will be ripe and ready for harvest, and we want you to be the first to help us create this highly-anticipated vintage! No one else in the entire world is making a commercial, 100%-varietal, fine wine from the Wetumka grape, so this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There is no cost to attend this event, but registration is required so we can plan accordingly. After a morning of harvest, a complimentary lunch and wine will be served in our Vineyard Kitchen. We invite all attendees who are interested in the winemaking process to join us in the cellar after lunch to learn more about crushing and fermentation." Free to attend but registration is required, register here.

Saturday

Feast on the Field: Live Animal Grazing

"We're inviting some cows, ducks, chickens, rabbits and maybe even some goats to our Westport Commons Farm to feast on our delicious cover crops that include sunflower, sugar beet, mustard, corn and sorghum. Watch as they tear up our field (albeit very slowly) and "contribute to our soil." We'll have some demonstrations, engaging activities and games for kids and adults alike. We're inviting some food trucks to join us, too, so humans can feast alongside the animals in the Plexpod parking lot or bring down goodies from The Sundry. Come by and say hi (or moo or quack or cluck or baa) to our midtown guests! Cows generously shared from Brown Cows Farm." From 9:30am to 2:30pm.

Rosé Palooza Deux at Underdog Wine Co.

"Part deux of our annual rosé tasting Underdog Wine Co. - Union Hill in Union Hill Kansas City. This time we will also be featuring nine different bubbles and still wines, so plenty to choose and taste through! We are pumped up to see you, pop some bubs and enjoy some rosé to close out the summer!"

Lobsterfest 2018

"Join us for fresh Maine lobster with live music and more than 200 of your closest friends. You won't want to miss this grassroots fundraiser turned Kansas City tradition! This year's proceeds from Lobsterfest will support Children's Mercy Hospital's & Clinics Cancer Center, Auxiliary and other children's charities. Since starting Lobsterfest, we have raised more than $200K. If you are looking for a non-traditional event that supports the children of Kansas City, then look no further than Lobsterfest. It is the best non-formal event suitably held at the tail end of summer."
