- 1 sugar cube
- Angostura bitters
- 4 oz Champagne
- strip of lemon peel, for garnish
| Preparation | Hold the sugar cube in place on top of the Angostura bitters bottle. Turn the bottle upside down and allow the bitters to soak the cube; it should only take a few seconds. Drop the cube into a Champagne flute, add Champagne, and garnish with a lemon twist.
